Twitch has released a statement after numerous accounts of sexual harassment and assault have been made against streamers and Twitch employees.

Posted on social media, the company has vowed to make their community a safer place and to contact law enforcement when applicable. This follows a storm of sexual misconduct allegations have been posted on Twitter during the week, ranging from claims of streamers using their status to harass women to accusations of rape.

Streamers BlessRNG, iAmSp00n and Wolv21 have seemingly been permanently banned from the platform with Wolv21 apologizing and admitting to inappropriately groping a woman.

BlessRNG (Brad Jolly) also posted an apology after content discovery app Kanga severed ties with him, as well as detailing his own story of abuse.

Gaming is just one of many industries to be rocked by sexual misconduct allegations, the most noteworthy being that of Hollywood with the floodgates being opened after movie producer Harvey Weinstein was accused (now convicted) of the rape and sexual harassment of over eighty women.

This seems to be just the start of an ever growing number of women coming forward to tell their stories.
